VERIFY:period_end_mya: stored=160 suggested=164 confidence=medium — This review splits the Yanliao Biota into a Bathonian-Callovian Daohugou phase of about 168-164 million years ago and a later Oxfordian Linglongta phase of 164-159 million years ago, and Epidexipteryx comes from the Daohugou locality, so the fossil-bearing interval ends near 164 Ma rather than 160 Ma. The Daohugou site itself has been directly dated to roughly 165-164 Ma.

VERIFY:geological_stage: stored=oxfordian suggested=callovian confidence=medium — Current sources give the temporal range of Epidexipteryx as Callovian, about 164 Ma, consistent with the Bathonian-Callovian Daohugou phase of the Yanliao Biota; the Oxfordian stage corresponds to the younger Linglongta phase, which does not contain the holotype locality. Some authors still treat the Daohugou age as Callovian-Oxfordian boundary, hence medium rather than high confidence.
