VERIFY:length_max_m: stored=3 suggested=2.3 confidence=high — The 3-4 m figure comes from Long & Murry's (1995) original reconstruction, which has been superseded: Benson & Brusatte (2012) give a maximum of about 2.3 m for the type and paratype specimens, and Holtz (2012) estimated only about 2 m. A stored maximum of 3 m is above any currently supported estimate.

VERIFY:weight_min_kg: stored=10 suggested=23 confidence=medium — Holtz (2012) estimated a mass of roughly 23-45 kg (wolf-sized), and other summaries cite figures up to about 50 kg; no current source supports a lower bound as small as 10 kg. The stored maximum of 40 kg sits inside the published range and is not flagged.

VERIFY:period_start_mya: stored=223 suggested=213 confidence=high — Marsh et al. (2019) bracket the holotype locality (PFV 020, Sonsela Member, Chinle Formation) between U-Pb detrital zircon maximum depositional ages of 213.124 +/- 0.069 Ma at the Petrified Forest Member-Sonsela Member contact and 209.926 +/- 0.072 Ma in the Black Forest bed. A start of 223 Ma reflects older, now-superseded age models for the Chinle Formation.

VERIFY:period_end_mya: stored=213 suggested=210 confidence=medium — The radioisotopic bracket in Marsh et al. (2019) places the holotype horizon no younger than about 209.9 Ma, giving a range of roughly 213-210 Ma rather than terminating at 213 Ma. The stored end date is effectively the oldest limit of the accepted interval.
